We attended one of this weekend’s showings of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Hazel Robinson Amphitheater in Asheville, NC.
I just loved it! Marc enjoyed it though not nearly so much as I did. My guess is this is because of my turn as Mustard Seed (a minor, minor fairy role) in middle school. Nostalgia – even though I hated the costumes, and knew I was dreadful in my tiny role – makes everything shinier doesn’t it?
It’s been strange this year not to see every performance of every play. Our friend, Mary Linda, told us that the play came together particularly well on the night we attended. Mary Linda has a permanently reserved spot in the front row center – because she’s been attending virtually every show for years and years!
We hope to make it next week – probably on Saturday – when cooler weather should make the amphitheater even more delightful than usual.
