We do love our Montford Park Players. Marc and I attended again last night and it was, if anything, even more polished than the week before. Plus my favorite chocolate vendor was there – so salted caramels for me (oh, joy!) and coconut balls for Marc (oh, mounds?!). We were seated, as ever, mid-center in the second row. To our left was a couple, Jerry and Herman, who were visiting Asheville and purchased one of those bed-and-breakfast packages that meant they got to play in the first scene of the production. I used their camera to take photos, which meant that I didn’t get any with my camera – but Herman and Jerry and both said they loved the pictures I took for them, so that’s all right.
Last year the MPP offered a package that allowed you to join them on stage as one of the senators who kills Caesar during Julius Caesar. I’ve always (almost but not quite) regretted that we didn’t do that. I mean, how neat! But also how uncomfortable! And scary! Right?
