When visiting my mom, I found this (oak) tree while turning on the light in my sister’s room. As it does every time I see the sister tree in my home, I’m transported back to afternoons on an airplane swing my father made, which we played both contentedly and contentiously on through the years of our childhood.
I’ll always have a soft spot for oak trees with well-worn dirt below swings.
