MacBeth

I was lucky enough to be allowed to take photos* at the dress rehearsal for MacBeth at the Masonic Temple in Asheville. This performance by the Montford Park Players was directed by James King.  It is AWESOME.

The play opens dark, and continues on that vein with blood, and sword fights, and madness and more.  The witches are so scary that during the more recent Saturday performance I attended, women in the line for the restrooms said they’d had to have their eyes shut and hands over their faces during entire scenes.

If you live in Asheville and don’t make your way to this amazing rendition of MacBeth you’ll regret it.

Here are pictures from this production; some of the costumes and some of the lighting changed from dress to performance.  I’m sure this one will just get tighter and tighter during its next weeks of performances.  Go see it!

* I’ll gladly take photos of any theatre event in Asheville if asked.  I’m learning so much about how to take pictures at indoor events.  Love it!
